Forward Air Director, Marketing in Atlanta, Georgia

Position: Director, Marketing

Job Description:

The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing premium marketing and sales plans and programs to support business development across the Forward Air Enterprise. This leadership role maintains overall responsibility for our brand, external communication, and sales support, which are needed to achieve positive market visibility and generate business growth opportunities to exceed financial objectives for the corporation. The position combines analytical, analysis, and communications skills with creativity and marketing expertise. The position reports directly to the Marketing and Communication Vice President and partners with enterprise leadership to achieve business objectives.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify target audiences, trends, and opportunities

  • Create and execute marketing plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation

  • Brand Management:

  • Develop and maintain a strong brand identity and messaging

  • Oversee brand positioning and messaging across all marketing channels

  • Monitor brand reputation and work closely with the Communications team to support crisis management

  • Digital Marketing:

  • Lead digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing

  • Optimize website performance and user experience

  • Analyze digital marketing metrics and make data-driven decisions

  • Traditional Marketing:

  • Manage traditional marketing channels such as print advertising, tradeshows, and events

  • Collaborate with advertising agencies and media partners

  • Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals

  • Recruit, hire, and develop marketing talent

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture

  • Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget

  • Track and analyze marketing expenses to ensure ROI

  • Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze marketing campaign results

  • Prepare regular reports on marketing performance and ROI

  • Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with sales, product development, and other departments to ensure alignment of marketing efforts

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and partners

  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, with a proven track record of success

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Industry Experience: Experience in Supply Chain is preferred, but not required

  • Certifications: Certifications in digital marketing, such as Google Analytics and Salesforce, are preferred, but not required

  • Global Perspective: Experience in international marketing is preferred, but not required

    Skills:

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and strategies

  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems
