The Data Privacy Business Analyst will support business and data analyst functions within the front-line data privacy organization. Serve as a key liaison between line of business (LOB) application teams and Data Privacy Technology Delivery team providing data analysis to support developing solutions for interfacing business applications. Drives out the identification and mitigation of data privacy risk as necessary to support organization priorities. Support the need for automation for all deliverables with process efficiency and effectiveness. Work in an indirect leadership capacity to influence collaboration, communication, and outcomes of various initiatives. Provide project management for parallel projects and initiatives. Responsible for producing operational and productivity metrics focusing on regulatory matters.

Candidate must be in either Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA and will require 4 days a week in office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serve as a key liaison between the Data Privacy front line team and LOBs.

  2. Collaborate with peer groups in Technology and LOBs to identify, document, and communicate business and technical needs.

  3. Facilitate engagements with business / technical teams, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Enterprise Architecture, and various executives.

  4. Provide status reporting and creating presentations for senior leaders and working groups.

  5. Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs with appropriate stakeholders to plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional and technical requirements.

  6. Perform current state data analysis of existing business systems / applications and functions to determine potential privacy impacts and applicability of privacy regulations.

  7. Understand the long-term business objectives and suggest strategies to meet those objectives and introduce technical innovations, as needed.

  8. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with application teams and other stakeholders to support acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing of solutions to meet regulatory requirements.

  9. Assist / coordinate pre-planning activities (e.g. business case, project estimate, project timelines, risk assessment, stakeholder analysis).

  10. Facilitate routine meetings with program stakeholders to provide updates on in-flight initiatives.

  11. Attend and present data privacy requirements in business unit intake / demand routines, as needed.

  12. Observe and ensure strict adherence to all Technology and Truist policies and standards (e.g. Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Change Management).

  13. Support creation and execution of control functions and frameworks supporting data privacy front line operations and various privacy impact assessments.

  14. Coach and mentor junior level Business Analysts, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree or equivalent experience to include six years of information technology experience with significant experience in software development

  2. Four years of experience as a business analyst or related role/experience, with experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Business Process Management, Relationship Management, Business Operations, Quality

  3. Management Experience planning, facilitating, eliciting, documenting and managing business, functional and technical requirements

  4. Experience with traditional Waterfall SDLC and/or Agile/Lean methodologies

  5. Ability to interact with management, business staff, ADS and DTS personnel in order to gather, compile and exchange information on work requests/project requirements and negotiate disputes effectively

  6. Strong presentation, verbal and written skills

  7. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints

  8. Ability to effectively interface with staff at all levels and resolve conflicts

  9. Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment

  10. Excellent facilitation and organizational skills

  11. Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  12. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

  13. Understand core systems, applications and technical platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in the banking industry supporting risk / regulatory initiatives

  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ServiceNow, Archer, and Clarity

  3. Financial analysis and experience creating forecasts and resource roadmaps

  4. IAPP Certification – CIPP/US and/or CIPM

  5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical metadata

  6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
