Job Description:

At Regions, the Corporate Bank Group Credit Division Manager leads a team of Credit Officers for corporate, commercial, real estate and/or specialized banking loan approvals. The Corporate Bank Group Credit Division Manager serves as a subject matter expert and internal resource for Corporate Banking Group lending transactions where Senior (or elevated) Credit Officer approval is required and ensures sound risk management practices are applied to all related transactions. The position reports to the Corporate Chief Risk Officer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leads a Credit team charged with evaluating the overall creditworthiness of loan transactions within the Corporate Banking Group across lines of business (Commercial, Corporate, Specialized, RBC)

  • Manages the Division/LOB’s credit exposure to ensure adherence to Region’s Risk Appetite Statement and to all asset quality, diversification, and exposure parameters

  • Reports to Executive management and retain accountability for the quality and profitability (return relative to risk) of the Division/LOB’s loan portfolios

  • Serves as a standing member of the Bank’s Credit Risk Committee

  • Serves as Policy Owner to relevant policies under the Division Manager's purview and routinely provides input to credit policy group(s) on revisions/amendments to existing standards, documentation requirements, and underwriting guidance

  • Partners with multiple Corporate Banking Group lines of business to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and/or control throughout the Credit/Underwriting process

  • Leads a divisional/specialized credit team charged with evaluating the overall creditworthiness of traditional credit-based and structured banking transactions in an assigned industry vertical (Healthcare, Tech & Defense, Transportation, etc.)

  • Key contributor to the LOB Enterprise Risk Assessment and the Corporate Banking Group Strategic Plan

  • Serves as a standing member of the applicable business unit Business Risk Committee and serve as co-chair, if applicable

  • Serves as primary Credit Officer trainer/mentor for new/junior Credit Officers to prepare them to assume Senior Credit Officer positions

  • Serves as Supervisory Principal for Capital Markets (RCM, RSL) and the Corporate Bank, as needed

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Fifteen+ (15+) years of related experience

  • Broad knowledge of all credit disciplines and business strategy

The Regions Business Capital (RBC) Credit Division Manager is responsible for all risk management aspects of the banks’ asset based lending portfolio. While the RBC portfolio is primarily asset based, it also contains asset based stretch loans and some hybrid cash flow loans. Additional credit products offered by RBC include account receivable securitization, supply chain finance, and receivable purchase programs.

  • Approves credit actions, including new credits, renewals, restructuring transactions, and workout/ criticized credits.

  • Manages a team of Senior Credit Officers dedicated to RBC.

  • Ensures sound risk management practices consistent with the Bank’s risk appetite and serves as a resource for RBC managed transactions requiring Senior Credit Officer and other related approvals.

  • Builds a solid working relationship with the 1st line, partners with other risk areas of the bank (Problem Asset Management, Credit Review, and Audit), and effectively engages with outside Regulatory Supervisors.

  • RBC is responsible for managing its criticized portfolio and the Credit Division Manager is responsible for proactively keeping Problem Asset Management (PAM) informed of projected risk rating changes, non-accrual actions, and potential charge offs.

  • The Credit Division Manager is responsible for the implementation of RBC specific credit policies.

  • Participate in Risk Governance Committees (both first and second line) as appropriate

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for other areas of the bank related to the ABL market, and RBC’s credit appetite/ product set

  • Reinforce discipline regarding concentration limits and tracked metrics that support the Risk Appetite of the Bank

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$275,908.00 USD

Median:

$359,040.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
