How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
As part of the Delta OnBoard Services (OBS) organization, the Kaizen Team supports Kitchen operations and assembly processes across a network worth over $120M annually. This team develops new process flows, standard work, specifications, and leverages technology to drive increased performance, maximized throughput, reduced waste, cost reductions, and overall business optimization. The programs supported vary from Continuous Improvement, LEAN methodology implementation, process efficiencies, operational support and guidance, resource planning, cost savings initiatives, data analysis, and driving productivity.
Work with a team of operational professionals on multiple projects to:
Identify and implement improvements to existing processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and performance
Measure and analyze current performance
Provide process engineering and/or internal consulting services
Participate in data collection efforts for projects that impact cross-functional departments
Implement project management skills and practices
Work across business units with various stakeholders in a professional setting
Recommend ideas for new ways to provide optimal products, services, and evaluate impact of proposed operational changes
High visibility to Managing Directors and VPs across multiple organizations.
- Must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations Fall 2024, Summer 2025, and Spring 2026 in Atlanta, GA.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Undergraduate students in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Business Administration, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Aviation management, or similar in a 4-year degree program
Must be available for three (3) alternating semesters: Fall 2024, Summer 2025, and Spring 2026
Must be able to present themselves professionally and effectively communicate with various levels of leadership
Team oriented and supportive of continuous improvement methodologies
Strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
Proficiency in data analytics using SQL, SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, or other data tools
Willingness/ability to learn new skills

Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

Desire to learn leadership techniques and best practices in problem solving and conflict resolution to enable innovation and progress on difficult to solve challenges of our customers
Desire to learn more about the airline industry and interest in Delta as a company
