Data Analyst – Assurance – Analytics Delivery (Senior)

The opportunity

You will join an entrepreneurial team of multidisciplinary professionals in a role that focuses on collecting, combining, and exploring data to create insights that support our clients with their decision-making processes. As part of our team, you will help improve our clients' data integrity and quality to allow for more reliable reports and insights within the accounting, finance, governance, and regulatory space and pursue automation in the process to create efficiencies.

Your key responsibilities

Everything you'll do will come back to providing exceptional analytical data for our clients.  Colleagues and clients from a diverse array of backgrounds will look to you first for answers, so you'll be a high-profile contact when it comes to understanding complex data analytics.  As you build your knowledge and experience, you'll become a credible advisor, influencing clients and engagement teams on resolutions that will impact future analytics delivery and processes.

  • Clearly present findings and articulate results in both written and oral communications

To qualify for role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field supported by 3 to 5 years' work experience in data analysis, data capture, data transformation, data visualization, and understanding business processes

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Alteryx and Visualization software (i.e. Power BI)

  • Experience advising external clients on insights and strategies related to data analytics, ideally in the audit domain.

  • Proven project management skills

  • Excellent communication skills and experience working on diverse teams and knowledge and understanding of a professional working environment

  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary

  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations

Ideally, you will also have

  • Masters' degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field preferred

  • CPA, CISA certification (or equivalent) preferred

  • Experience with data analysis tools including, but not limited to Python, PySpark, Apache Spark, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, JavaScript, D3.js, etc., and other emerging technologies

  • Experience with developing data visualization dashboards for communication of anomalies, patterns, and trends, using tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Spotfire using structured and unstructured data sources

  • Competence in using database management software, statistical and predictive machine learning software, robotic process automation and AI

  • Background in cloud computing including Microsoft Azure platform and Microsoft Azure Databricks

  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) specific tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and ERP data models

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $105,800 to $174,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $127,100 to $198,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
