Position Summary

The Morehouse School of Medicine seeks a board-certified cardiologist for academic appointment in the division of cardiology. The responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient clinical services, teaching, and research primarily at the Grady Hospital Heart and Vascular Center, Atlanta. Successful candidate will be expected to have GME experience and mentorship skills. Level II training in nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and level III in advanced cardiac imaging (cardiac CT and MRI ) is desirable.

Compensation consists of competitive salary with opportunity for RVU -based incentive bonus, health insurance, paid CME , retirement plan and 4 weeks of paid vacation.

Grady Hospital Health System is one of the largest public academic programs in the United States, situated in downtown, Atlanta. It currently has over 600 hospital beds with recent approval to add more beds, nationally accredited Level 1 Trauma Center and is the major provider of emergency ambulance service in the metro-Atlanta region. It has an award-winning comprehensive heart failure management program, recognized in the US News and World report and the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control. It has state of the art cardiac catheterization and dedicated electrophysiology laboratories, hybrid room and a 24/7 STEMI program.

Atlanta is a dynamic cosmopolitan southern city with one of the busiest airports in the United States, has beautiful weather all year round and a vibrant economy. Atlanta is home to multiple prominent national professional sports teams and NCAA Division 1 teams with A+ public and private schools.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD degree

• Georgia Medical License

• Board Certification in Cardiology

• BC/BE in Cardiology

• Level II training in Echocardiography

• Level II training in Nuclear Cardiology

• Level II training in Transesophageal Echocardiography

• Preferred experience in medical student and/or resident teaching

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment.
