The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a OB/ GYN (Assistant Professor)
Appointment to this rank requires that:
Candidates shall have met the qualifications of Instructor.
Possession of the Ph.D., M.D., or other terminal or professional degree required for teaching in certain fields.
- Physicians should be Board certified or eligible to sit for the Board examination of the American Board of Medical Specialties. Other professionals must provide comparable evidence of continuing professional education and comply with recommended standards for continuing education by their professions.
Clinicians:
Faculty appointed as Assistant Professor are expected to provide patient care and contribute in a second area of academic endeavor (i.e., teaching or scholarly activity). Research or other evidence of scholarly activities is encouraged, although the measures for assessment of appointment are primarily focused on accomplishment and potential in teaching and clinical medicine.
Minimum Qualifications
MD degree
A minimum of two years post-doctoral experience or its equivalent.
Georgia Medical License
Board Eligible for Obstetrics and Gynecology
Preferred experience in medical student and/or resident teaching
Good interpersonal skills
High level of professionalism
Demonstrated potential for continued growth and development in their field of specialization and/or clinical service; ability to work independently.
Evidence of satisfactory performance of other medical school responsibilities.

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
• Serve on department, institutional and community-based committees
• May serve as Course Director for undergraduate medical education courses
• May provide resident and medical student supervision
• May undertake clinical responsibilities at Morehouse Healthcare, Grady Health Systems, or other affiliated sites as assigned
• Assist with resident recruitment, including interviewing candidates

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
