Position: Paraprofessional at Beacon School (Athens County Board of Developmental Disabilities). Salary: Per established salary schedule. This is a part time nine month position. Position Qualifications: ? High school diploma or GED, or Associate's Degree. ? Passing score on State Parapro Assessment if no degree (or equivalent). ? Must pass BCI and FBI background checks Position Description (includes but is not limited to): ? Ensure safety of students ? Provide assistance to classroom teacher ? Work with students both individually and in small groups ? Assist with gross motor time, restroom breaks, bussing, etc. ? Promote good social relationships between children ? Assist students with toiletry needs and diapering as needed ? Duplicate or prepare materials for class projects ? Maintain respect at all times for confidential records and student information ? Interact in a positive and professional manner with students, staff, and parents ? Attend meetings and in-services as required Other Duties and Responsibilities: ? Play learning games ? Assist teacher in maintaining student files ? Prepare supply, material, and equipment requisitions as directed by immediate supervisor ? Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely manner ? Perform other duties as assigned Additional Working Conditions ? Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions (i.e., being prepared to come to work on all scheduled workdays, except calamity days) ? Frequent and regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, climb, kneel, and stoop ?
