Heidelberg Materials is seeking Plant Admin for our Aggregate Quarry located in Athens, Georgia. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for running the scales and performing clerical work. The position requires accurate record keeping of each truck leaving the site as well as the weight of all materials leaving with the trucks. The position uses computers, spreadsheets and data bases. Strong information storage and filing skills are required. Some work may include analyzing data and making various computations. Familiarity with scale operation and with shipping is an asset. The successful candidate will have a proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player. They must be able to work without direct supervision. Shift work and overtime will be required.

What you’ll get to do
Operate the scale by performing the following:
Notify drivers of the product to be loaded.
Weigh loaded trucks and print customer tickets for signature.
Maintain radio communication with loader operators and drivers. Act as a liaison between the drivers and load operators.
Answer phones and offer assistance to drop-in customers.
Collect CODs from drivers and FOB (Freight on Board) customers and record the information.
Process credit card sales by typing in required information into credit card machine and record the information onto the COD report.
Assist with inventory by collecting and entering data into the system.
Prepare reports.
Assist with processing billing and accounts payables.
Submit employee time to payroll.
Assist with HR paperwork and benefits.
Perform special projects as needed.
Essential Experience and Skills
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Proficient PC skills, with experience in Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
At least one year of clerical experience in an office environment

- Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
