As a Medical Director, you will demonstrate strategic leadership, conduct medical-scientific activities, and develop our Medical Affairs team in Takeda Norway. You will also represent our medical functions both internally and externally, fostering alignment and collaboration across all stakeholders. Additionally, you will be part of the Nordic Medical Affairs Community to further enhance collaboration and leverage its scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Shape the Takeda Norway strategy in collaboration with the leadership team, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and values. Elevate strategic capabilities to drive innovation and medical excellence. Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment through quality conversations, mentoring, coaching, and continuous feedback.

  • Medical Affairs: Build and nurture trusting relationships with thought leaders and other key stakeholders in our core therapeutic areas. Disseminate scientific knowledge and developments through publications, presentations, and engagement in scientific forums. Generate and utilize Real-World Evidence (RWE) to support the long-term effectiveness and safety of our treatments. Ensure the integrity and quality of clinical studies, maintaining patient safety and adherence to timelines. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to incorporate RWE insights into ongoing research and life-cycle management strategies. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, uphold scientific accuracy, and maintain the highest ethical standards aligned with our values.

  • People Development: Lead the development and implementation of programs to enhance key strategic capabilities, including digital and AI. Foster a culture of career growth and development, creating opportunities for team members to thrive in evolving environments.

What You Bring

  • Experience: Extensive medical experience with a minimum of 7 years in the pharmaceutical industry and at least 3 years in a managerial role. Demonstrated success in leading both medical and cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and driving strategic initiatives. Experience in managing RWE would also be highly valued.

  • Education: Medical doctor qualification required; an advanced management degree (M.B.A., M.P.H., M.H.A.) is a plus. Additional certifications in clinical development, pharmacology, or related fields are beneficial.

  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, project management, and communication skills. Proven ability to inspire and motivate teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-evolving environment. Deep understanding of the Norwegian healthcare systems, reimbursement landscape, regulations, and compliance. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative solutions and continuous improvement. Proficiency in leveraging digital tools and AI to enhance medical and scientific fields.
