HOURS: (Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays.) JOB SUMMARY/ JOB DUTIES: The Processing Technician, under general supervision, is responsible for providing assistance in duties related to safe, efficient and continuous operation of processing machinery. Leads direct activities for production focus on people, equipment, and process. Efficiently maintains the operation of the complex production machines within the facility to include multifaceted changeovers and control panel adjustments. Understands and demonstrates the necessary skills to operate multiple production lines and can be utilized to backfill any production position. Maintains and leads Quality policy compliance through monitoring foreign matter and breakage. Making any necessary adjustments. Analyzes quality and machine data to evaluate trends and make suggestions for improvement and increased efficiencies. Responsible for Production Power Walks and assist with implementation of plant continuous improvement efforts. Functions in the role of Processing Operator when needed. Communicates and/or escalates quality issues to appropriate team members. Trouble shoots production machinery and completes preventative maintenance. Assists with maintenance work orders. Leads sanitation procedures for clean ups and change overs, including chemical handling. Tracks and disposes of waste accordingly. Maintains and leads Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety policy compliance - by following and setting an example and validating employee compliance. Assists supervisor in completing daily line paperwork to include KPIs, updating communication boards, and staffing needs. Where applicable: Knowledge of bulk unloading process. Partner with receiving team to understand how ingredients are moved throughout the plant. Move raw ingredients using material handling equipment including but not limited to forklift and/or pallet jack. Responsible for the oil filtration process. Test and receive new oil; treat, filter and test used oil. Reads and understands batch sheets including following recipes and accurate weighing of raw materials. Mandatory overtime may be required. May perform other duties as required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
