Headquartered in Ashland, MA, since 1966, Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. manufactures fire protection and ignition/temperature control products. About this role
Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. is seeking a Global Procurement Category Specialist – Indirect, IT, Telecoms to join our Procurement team.
The Global Procurement Category Specialist will help define and execute sourcing strategies that drive P&L value across the Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. IT spend category and will play a significant role in execution activities associated with the Indirect and IT category strategy; be the primary owner of the supplier relationship management process and will work closely with counterparts and stakeholders to ensure that the strategies are executed to the benefit of Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. globally.
The successful candidate will ideally be based out of our Ashland, MA office with a hybrid work schedule, or consideration will be given to qualified remote candidates from other US locations.

Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic sourcing and category management planning with stakeholders
Gather and understand technical requirements required to solicit supplier bids, meet stakeholder needs, and answer technical supplier questions during competitive events
Prepare and conduct RFIs, RFQs and RFPs as needed to support category plans/stakeholder needs
Conduct bid analysis, synthesize bid scenarios, and provide supplier bid feedback in a timely manner
Handle or facilitate face-to-face or top/strategic supplier negotiations
Assist with post-RFP implementation planning
Develop, update and leverage procurement dashboards and scorecards
Manage courses of action and present a preferred course of action based on a decision matrix with an estimated benefit case
Partner with key stakeholders to optimize procurement value and working capital by identifying opportunities, aggregating goods and services, and the standardization of processes
Lead Indirect and IT sourcing projects, guide sourcing strategy, supplier selection, cost evaluations, ROI analyses, pricing negotiations and contract discussions
Build and maintain positive supplier and stakeholder relationships, communicate procurement goals and value proposition, and understand relevant functional organizations, their goals, and Indirect/IT/technology needs
Conduct spend analysis, create annual Category Management Plans, and implement changes to enhance cost efficiency, leveraging strong business relationships
Lead contract negotiations with Indirect and IT vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and SLAs, work with legal and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and risk management
Participate or lead the Indirect and IT vendor selection process, align it with quality, cost and technical requirements, and maintain relationships through regular performance evaluations
Manage the complete contract lifecycle, i.e., administration, compliance, renewals in collaboration with Legal and other involved parties
Ensure compliance with Procurement Ethics, Policies, Corporate Standards, Values, Internal Controls and relevant laws
Basic Qualifications
Associate degree
2+ years’ experience in Indirect and/or IT or Telecoms Procurement, Category, and/or Contract Management
Able to work flexible hours to coincide with international team and supplier availability
Travel domestically and internationally on occasion (<10% estimated travel)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Economics, Engineering, or Supply Chain
Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence others
Contract negotiation experience
Electronic sourcing, procurement digital tools, and supplier relationship management
Cloud cost management and optimization across AWS or Azure
Manage a portfolio of responsibilities
Analytical skills necessary to prioritize and optimize multiple priorities and objectives
Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Teams, PowerBI)
Project/program management skills
Procurement background i.e., knowledge and expertise utilizing programs Ariba or other common sourcing platforms
Lead and engage with global cross-functional teams
Procurement experience in the UK and India
Proficiency in the lifecycle of contract management
Exercise independent business judgment to drive strategy and results
Supplier relationship management skills
Lead a global matrixed team to achieve results through leadership & influence
Conduct CAPEX make vs. buy and total cost of ownership analysis
Lead analysis and resolution of complex problems, evaluation of both tangible and intangible variables
Ability to work in a changing/evolving environment
