Sodexo is seeking a Fulltime Registered Dietitian to work at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community located in Asheville, NC. Deerfield is a prestigious, nationally-acclaimed life care community on 125 beautiful acres just south of the renowned Biltmore Estate and the Blue Ridge Parkway. In 2022, Deerfield achieved a deficiency-free Medicare Health Care Survey report for the eighth year in a row and is five-star rated. This is a rare opportunity to join our management team in an RD position that focuses on providing wellness and nutrition education to residents already living vibrant, active and fulfilling lifestyles.

The successful candidate will:

• prepare and execute wellness events for residents including cooking demonstrations, educational seminars, tabling events, and presentations;

• provide nutritional care to residents in our healthcare center and complete one-on-one consultations with independent living residents;

• conduct quality improvement initiatives such as test trays and meal rounds;

• meet DOH/state/federal and company standards;

• represent the Food & Nutrition Department as a liaison with the medical and nursing staff; and/or

• support the food service operation as needed.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for Dietitians who have:

• Registered Dietitian credentials and state licensure;

• at least 2 years of experience as an RD;

• experience working with older adults, preferred;

• a passion for working with older adults, preferred;

• a high level of comfort assisting with menu planning and review;

• strong verbal and written communication skills; and/or

• proven leadership and customer service skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire

Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
