The service specialist is an associate forming part of the team responsible for transportation operations. The objective of the service specialist is to identify, mitigate, and record actions as they relate to risks associated with on-time pickup and on-time delivery.
Within the team, the specialist will perform a variety of roles including tasks like shipping facility tracking, provider tracking, in-transit tracking, load recovery initiation, unload resolution, determining reassignment versus rescheduling, and providing value-stream level visibility to load status, among other transportation cost-and-service-based optimization activities for Nestle.
A day in the life:
Ensure all outbound deliveries planned are executed on-time considering defined cut offs with CoC & relevant guidelines for required Service Level Adherence.
You are the single Point of Contact to External Carriers
Liaise with Carrier on indent acceptance tendered through carrier portal
Monitor & Assist dock scheduling to ensure proper utilization of warehouse resources at units
Coordinate with Warehouse team to honour the appointments taken through carrier portal
Assure first time right vehicle placement in line with standard norms (dimension and vehicle quality)
Ensure shipment end date and time is captured (basis PoD acknowledgement)
Coordinate with Carriers to accept FSD, if not done and assist Freight Settlement Coordinator with resolution of issues
Support in timely and correct bill submissions by Carriers for payment processing
Participate in NCE operational review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of transportation operation process
Provide 360 visibility on status of open outbound deliveries to Units and internal team leads
What will make you successful:
Relevant experience in physical logistics is highly regarded
Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and Outlook.
Experience in SAP and Transport Management System
Proficient in communicating with all stakeholders
