Your Opportunity

The Environmental Services (ES) North America Technology Manager is responsible for building and supporting the infrastructure and solutions based on Microsoft Azure for Stantec’s 6,000-person ES Business Unit in North America. You will work as part of the Digital Practice team with peers who are experts in their various AEC-industry technologies. This role will also engage with Stantec’s Digital Center of Excellence team to develop and define operating models to support production business-facing solutions for ES.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of technology specialists to develop and support solutions that improve collaboration, productivity, and knowledge-sharing applications using Microsoft Azure and other technologies

  • Engage with ES Digital Practice solutions specialists, Technical Discipline Leads and key business stakeholders to elicit requirements, understand processes, and formulate solutions for the business

  • Apply Stantec’s data security requirements across ES solutions

  • Oversee the ES Azure infrastructure and help direct key infrastructure resources from the Digital CoE team that helps ES with the ES Landing Zone

  • Follow appropriate documentation and change control processes

  • Create and support solutions across a broad range of technologies, including Azure, SQL, Power Platform, ESRI, AI/ML and more

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for members of the team

  • Transparently communicate issues and resolutions, seek clarifications to align with project teams, and escalate with resolution steps taken

  • Provide support for the platform to ensure staff using the tools remain productive and billable

Qualifications

  • Capable of developing both prototype and enterprise-class solutions

  • Proven organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • Approaches responsibilities with a self-motivated and self-directed work style

  • Leads by example in being a team player through accountability to team members while holding them responsible for assigned tasks

  • Proactively communicates with stakeholders

  • Possesses technical leadership skills

  • Exercises independent judgment, capable of working under general supervision.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree

5 years in technology management/leadership role

Microsoft Azure certification of any kind (preferred)

Experience with independent solution development, testing and deployment when given a set of requirements

Experience building and supporting solutions built in Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, Teams, & ESRI
