As a software development engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction, vision, design, roadmap and development.

Key job responsibilities

Influence product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution

Build experience designing large-scale systems with a focus on horizontal scaling, high throughput and massive, rapidly growing data sets

Solve complex software problems using design and problem-solving skills

Have an in-depth understanding in SDLC areas like IDE’s, source code management, CI/CD and compliance solutions

Be knowledgeable in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and workflow engines

Love collaborating with senior leaders to design and build a large-scale AWS product

Mentor and lead junior developers on the team

Work with developers as your core customers

Design and build the architecture, identify and investigate new technologies, prototype solutions, and test and review changes, to deliver an exceptional customer experience

Use core AWS technologies to design and build scalable web services and customer-facing APIs

Develop software that enables customers to be productive building their own software

Collaborate and work alongside a passionate group of software engineers and product folks who love making the tooling we each wish we had

Arlington, VA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
