Come join the AWS Marketplace Team in our mission to change the way enterprise software are bought and sold! AWS Marketplace enables software sellers to reach all AWS customers; and enables software buyers to easily discover, purchase and consume software. Our goals include enriching the platform to support more diverse selection, improving buyer and seller experience and implementing new ideas to add new dimensions to the product. Our vision is to make AWS Marketplace one stop shop for buying and selling software just like Amazon.com is for retail.

Key job responsibilities

The AWS Marketplace and APO team is looking for a Senior UX Researcher who leads through their work and is comfortable with all stages of the product lifecycle.

From inception through launch, you will be a research owner, responsible for delivering customer insights, and influencing partners to iterate and improve, translating customer needs and constraints into simple, intuitive, customer-focused solutions.

You will help influence and drive critical business decisions, meet regularly with customers and senior leaders, collaborate frequently with designers, product managers and tech to facilitate research that will define the direction of our product experiences.

This role is intended for a research leader who knows how to use the artifacts of research, hard data and deep intuition to create and improve consumer-facing user experiences.

  • Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research using different methods and techniques based on project goals and timelines

  • Uncover and investigate unmet needs while validating new solutions (e.g. interview facilitation, ethnographic skills, journey mapping, design heuristic reviews, persona creation, etc.)

  • Generate ideas on new or more efficient ways to answer questions that we have about customers.

  • Work independently to discover new metrics for the team to benchmark against.

  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to solve problems with data and define roadmaps.

  • Possess excellent communication and writing skills as the research insights will directly impact business strategy and design direction.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
