POSITION SUMMARY:

The position is a member of and supports the Regulatory Scientific Affairs function for Nestle Nutrition. The Senior Specialist evaluates product recipes and raw materials for regulatory compliance; develops ingredient listings and nutrition facts panels, develops RMS (raw material specification) data in support of labeling compliance, helps to identify, develop and substantiate nutrition and ingredient claims, reviews label and off-label materials to ensure regulatory compliance and technical accuracy, and provides other technical regulatory and nutrition support as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures products are in compliance with US FDA and USDA regulations with respect to product labelling and claims, formulation and ingredients.

• Helps ensure that product nutrition and compositional claims are substantiated and in compliance with U.S. regulations as well as internal requirements.

• Review label artwork, consumer communications, website copy and other communications for regulatory compliance and technical/nutrition accuracy

• Develops and reviews nutrition, subcomponent, allergen and other technical information for raw materials (ingredients) in support of internal recipe and ingredient database.

• Help maintain internal databases and documentation systems, coordinating with other members of the Regulatory function. Includes organic and other product certifications. Help assess impact of regulatory changes on the product portfolio.

• Participates in project meetings and represents the regulatory function

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

• Bachelor’s degree required. MS or RD preferred

• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience

• Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry (CPG)

• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams and agency partners

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
