Job Description:

Join the Parsons team at the Pentagon’s National Military Command Center (NMCC) as an Operations Support engineer for the Joint Staff and the Daily Updates Team. This role is crucial in supporting the coordination and dissemination of vital information within the command center, ensuring seamless communication and operational efficiency. Furthermore, this position is divided into three interconnected roles, each specializing in different aspects of data and application management to ensure the smooth operation of the NMCC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Design, develop, and maintain applications and tools, which may be stand-alone or integrated into platforms like Advana or Palantir.

  • Utilize programming languages such as R, C++, SQL, and Python to create robust software solutions.

  • Develop and implement algorithms to analyze data and generate actionable insights.

  • Work closely with the Data Engineer to ensure data integrity and with the Power Platform SME for integration into broader systems.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of software design, development, and updates.

  • Collect, clean, and organize data to ensure it is accurate, valid, and ready for use by the Data Scientist/Software Engineer.

  • Develop and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to streamline data workflows.

  • Maintain and optimize databases to support efficient data storage and retrieval.

  • Conduct regular data validation and quality checks to ensure the reliability of data feeds.

  • Coordinate with the Data Scientist/Software Engineer to understand data requirements and with the Power Platform SME to facilitate data integration.

  • Design and build applications within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

  • Ensure seamless integration of Power Platform solutions with applications and tools developed by the Data Scientist/Software Engineer.

  • Develop workflows and automation processes to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power Platform applications.

  • Work closely with both the Data Scientist/Software Engineer and Data Engineer to align Power Platform applications with overall data strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance required prior to hire

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline.

  • 7-10 years of experience in programming, data management, and application development, preferably within a military or government environment.

  • Proficiency in R, C++, SQL, Python, and experience with platforms like Advana or Palantir

  • Strong skills in data management, ETL processes, and database maintenance

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.

  • Team player with a collaborative approach to work.

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
