Amazon Finance Manager, GREF FP&A, Finance Operations in Arlington, Virginia
Description
Amazon is seeking an experienced candidate to join the Finance Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group as a Finance Manager in our Amazon HQ2 (Arlington, VA) location that will work closely with key business partners, within the Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) global program teams. This role will mainly be responsible for undertaking financial analysis and insights to drive strategic decision-making, forecasting budgets for all planning cycles, month-end accruals and monthly business reviews.
This position requires a proactive, highly motivated self-starting individual with an aptitude for financial analysis and modeling, who operates well in an ambiguous environment. This person will also be expected to take a leadership role in driving positive change by evaluating and streamlining existing regional and global operational processes. Additionally, the senior analyst will support development of new tools, reports and processes for the team.
Key job responsibilities
Financial budgeting, modeling & analysis:
Gathering, evaluating and validating data, ensuring correctness and completeness
Develop robust financial models to evaluate new business initiatives, investments, and strategic opportunities.
Conduct detailed scenario and sensitivity analyses to identify key financial drivers and assess potential risks and returns
Leverage data visualization tools to effectively communicate complex financial information to cross-functional stakeholders.
Analyze historical trends and market factors to build detailed financial projections, identifying key variances and trends.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
