BAE Systems Engineering Technologist I in Arlington, Virginia

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated junior level engineer to join our NATO Seasparrow Project Office (NSPO) team in Arlington, VA. The selected candidate will provide engineering, and programmatic support to the Missile Production Manager for the ESSM Block 1 and ESSM Block 2 missile variants, its components and associated equipment. Specific support elements, involve collaborating with Navy Field Activities, the Design Agent and our US International stakeholders in maintaining project schedules, budget execution dashboards, risk databases and Government Furnished Property lists.

Position specific duties include:

  • Provide engineering support to the Missile Production Manager in resolving technical action items/issues/problems. Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to ESSM production as required.

  • Develop and maintain detailed ESSM Production project schedules. Monitor Production project timelines and milestones and provide recommendations to the ESSM Production Manager. Coordinate with internal and external team members to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.

  • Maintain overview of ESSM production activities and actions, to include action items from all reviews and working group sessions designated by N40. Respond to assigned actions and participate in action item status review meetings.

  • As directed by the N40 Division Director, manage the N40 risk register and ensure risks are current and mitigation plans are well documented.

  • Manage N40 Division Evolved SEASPARROW Missile (ESSM) Government Furnished Property (GFP) by generating GFP lists for ESSM Block 2 contracts and entering all property records and supporting documentation into the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) system.

  • Manage N40 Division ESSM Property Transfer Requests (PTRs) and Plant Clearance Cases (PCCs) by working with US Navy TECHREP to define property on ESSM contracts.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor s degree preferably in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related field).

  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in engineering, preferably in a Navy or Defense environment

Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience with project scheduling (e.g MS Project etc,) and financial reporting (e.g. PowerBi) is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in an International Team environment.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.

  • Ability to travel domestically to support Production related meetings

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $61820 - $105050

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
