Be a part of a new corporate contract forRoyce Geo! Contract is expected to be awarded in June 2024. We are looking for a results-driven Cartographer in St. Louis withexperiencein performing cartographic production at both large and small scales!

Responsibilities:

  • Use an understanding of geography, cartographic finishing principles, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to produce and/or review national and international co-producers, academia, military, civil partners/contractor produced maps and charts (previously accepted and approved by the Government) at various scales. These maps and charts may consist of the following standard products and variants: Topographic Map (TM), MGCP Topographic Map (MTM), Image City Map (ICM), Joint Operations Graphic (JOG), Tactical Pilotage Chart (TPC), Jet Navigation Chart (JNC), Global Navigation Chart (GNC), and Operational Navigation Chart (ONC) Evacuation Chart (EVC).Defines and explains the scale, cost, and timetable of a project and issues contracts for the performance of services.
  • Attribute, conflate, edit, exploit, extract, format, manipulate, merge, position, and symbolizegeospatialinformation to build map/chart finished products and/or to perform quality assurance reviews.Confirms that the tasks are completed on time, in sequence, within budget, and under the terms of a contractual agreement.
  • Analyze/evaluate Foundationdatafor quality in terms of coverage, accuracy, currency, completeness, and the applicability to the requirements. Evaluates project protocols and procedures to reduce costs and improve the quality of executed assignments.
  • Participate in technical exchanges with Government, partners, and contract personnel located at their site and virtually around the globe. Enabling activities in support of map/chart production (i.e. writing SOPs and how toguides, training coworkers, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstratedexperiencein cartographic finishing, feature extraction, anddatacontent management.
  • Knowledge of FeatureDataSpecifications or Product Specifications (DPS) to include, the TopographicDataStore (TDS) and MultinationalGeospatialCo-production Program (MGCP) schemas,DataProduct Specification (DPS), and/or Standard InformationGuidance (SIG) forGEOINTproduct lines which include Topographic Map (TM), MGCP Topographic Map (MTM), Joint Operations Graphic (JOG), Tactical Pilotage Chart (TPC), Jet Navigation Chart (JNC), Global Navigation Chart (GNC), and Operational Navigation Chart (ONC and variants (provisional, automated, etc.).
  • Knowledge of digitaldataformats including, vectordata, shapefile and spatialdatabase, GML, and Extensible Markup Language (XML).
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to edit, merge, and/or conflategeospatialcontent.
  • Experiencefinding and using resources/webservices/websites as they pertain to features/attributes required for portrayal on map/charts. Resources may include; Geographic Names, Boundaries, GRiD, Geodetic Packages (GEOPAK), Automated-Air-Facilities-Intelligence-File (AAFIF), Digital Vertical Obstruction Files (DVOF), Digital Nautical Chart (DNC), TDS, MGCP, etc.
  • Demonstrated expertise with cartographic finishing software andautomationtools, such as Cartographic Web Services (CWS), Digital Cartographic Studio (DCS),ArcGISDesktop/Pro and extensions, and/or CartographicAutomationProduction Solution (CAPS).
  • Demonstratedexperienceperforming geo-locational mensuration functions, extract coordinates and positional relationships from digitaldatabase systems.
  • Demonstratedexperienceperforming imagery interpretation from various imagery sources to validate features present on or missing from map/chart products and the underlying featuredata.
  • Basicexperienceusing ageospatialdatabase.
  • Demonstratedexperiencecommunicating technical aspects of the cartographic product finishing tradecraft with clarity and accuracy both verbally and written.
  • Experiencewith combining digital cartography, computer technology, GIS, cartographic andgeospatialproduction techniques,remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digitaldataformats.
  • Experienceperforming Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance of maps/chart using documented specifications and standards.
  • TS/SCIClearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experiencein developing production schedules in order to deliver customer requirements on-time or ahead of the due date.
  • ExperiencewithPythonscripting.
  • Experienceserving in a supervisory or Technical Lead work role.
  • Experiencetraining coworkers or others in cartographic techniques and best practices.
