Amazon BI Engineer, Selling Partner Services PXT in Arlington, Virginia

Selling Partner Services is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to support our employee experience, including leadership development and diversity & inclusion programs. This person will help define key metrics to measure the impact of leadership development and employee experience initiatives and help develop weekly/monthly business level reporting. You will also lead ad-hoc analyses to identify areas for experimentation, evaluate the efficacy of current programs and inform targeted action plans both at regional and global level. The ideal candidate will be excited about using data to understand business performance, develop insights based on their work and summarize findings for management consumption.

In this role, you will:

  • Work directly with senior management to analyze leadership development and employee experience data and produce tangible insights that guide our roadmap.

  • Design and build analytical models, using HR and business intelligence data systems, to inform the leadership development and employee experience strategy in a fast moving environment.

  • Develop new techniques to process large data sets, address quantitative problems, and recommend white spaces for experimentation.

  • Support data needs related to business cadence such as weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews.

  • Build dashboards that enable leaders to understand employee experience and business data, assess functional business performance and develop targeted action plans.

Key job responsibilities

  • You'll own reporting end-to-end, including gathering requirements, designing architecture, creating data pipelines, and front-end reporting.

  • You'll work directly with customers and stakeholders to ensure your products address their business questions and drive the desired business outcomes

About the team

We are a people analytics team supporting the Selling Partner Services organization. Our customers include business leaders, program managers, leadership development professionals, and HR business partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions

  • Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
