ARPA H – Mission Office Production Support

Amentum is looking for experienced personnel to expand our health technology development support capabilities and offerings for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) as well as our Department of Defense (DoD) and other public health client space.

We are interested in individuals who have experience supporting executive-level Government personnel at a federal agency, preferably one focused on technology development projects. Production personnel will provide Front Office support to an ARPA-H Mission Office, regularly interacting with Government leadership (i.e. the Office Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director for Program Management [ADPM], technical Program Managers) to help create materials that communicate the goals, impact, importance, and status of technology development programs.

Responsibilities will include:

Candidates would fill one of the two following positions:

Briefing Coordinator:

  • Providing presentation support to senior management in a healthcare-related research and development organization

  • Drafting, editing, routing, and submitting briefs and other strategic communication products

  • Interpreting ideas and analyzing complex topics; communicating technical ideas via clear and concise statements for a wide range of audiences

  • Creating, compiling, and editing computer-generated documentation including technical text and graphics

  • Contribute to the development of mission office strategy and investments

  • Developing and maintaining a strong, positive rapport with senior leadership, team members (Gov and contractor personnel), and the public

Graphic Artist / Web Portal Support:

  • Coordinating with technical personnel to generate graphics and visuals that capture complex technical topics in accurate and accessible visuals

  • Developing “iconic” graphics that capture the focus and intent of programs, events, and evolutions relevant to mission office activity

  • Contributing to the editing and quality control of briefs, presentations, and documents communicating the goals and strategy of the mission office and its programs

  • Developing and supporting registration and information websites for events such as proposers days, industry days, technical reviews, offsite events, etc.

  • Generating material, coordinating inputs, and supporting the updating and management of websites related to the agency, mission office, and/or specific programs and events

Minimum Requirements:

  • The demonstrated professionalism, maturity, sound judgement, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for daily interactions with executive-level audiences in a dynamic, high-visibility Front Office environment

  • At least 5 years or more relevant experience

  • Ability to work independently

  • Additional minimum requirements by position:

  • Briefing Coordinator:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, equivalent experience/certification in a field relevant to the specific position, or​substantial equivalent occupational experience

  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills

  • Relevant experience providing presentation support to senior management in a research and development organization

  • Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word applications

  • Graphic Artist / Web Designer:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in a graphics related field or equivalent occupational experience/certification

  • Demonstrated experience in graphic design or equivalent discipline

  • Experience with web development applications or related field

  • Experience in preparing technical material and presentations, with strong ability to interface with technical personnel

  • In-depth knowledge of PowerPoint and in preparing visual arts, including text and illustrations; adept in state-of-the-art computer- generated graphics, including all current software packages

  • Thorough knowledge of the latest applications, designs, and formats

Desired Requirements

  • NIH or other federal grant program experience and/or familiarity with the DoD and/or HHS

  • Experienced coder, programmer, engineer with html knowledge

  • Hybrid and telework options are likely but residence within Washington DC metropolitan area.

  • Additional minimum requirements by position:

  • Briefing Coordinator:

  • Working knowledge of healthcare related policies and procedures is highly desirable

  • Educational background in writing, finance, economics, or business is also highly desirable

  • Graphic Artist / Web Designer:

  • Experience using css, github, federalist
