Job Summary

The Department of Psychology in the College of Science at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for TWO open-rank and open-area tenure-track faculty position ( Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). We are seeking candidates with expertise in behavioral and brain science who can complement our existing strengths in the area(s) of cognition, health, and/or neuroscience. The use of innovative methodological or analytic approaches (e.g., physiological, neuroimaging, computational modeling, artificial intelligence, etc.) is desirable and research aimed at understanding brain health (e.g., healthy aging, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, mental health, or neurological disorders, etc.) in either human or animal research will be viewed favorably. A track record of external funding will be weighed significantly for senior positions.

UT Arlington is currently establishing a Clinical Imaging Research Center that will house a 3 Tesla MRI dedicated to research. The university also plans to launch the Arlington Study of Healthy Aging, an interdisciplinary initiative aimed at understanding the mechanisms of age-related functional decline. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service, and will be expected to supervise graduate and/or undergraduate student research and teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.

Required Qualifications

Minimum requirements for this position include: (1) a Ph.D. or equivalent in Psychology, Neuroscience, or closely related discipline; (2) strong publication record or strong publication potential; (3) evidence of existing funding or potential to develop a strong research program with external funding; and (4) commitment to quality teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The Department of Psychology, which is housed within the College of Science, offers both a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Science in Psychology (Specialization in Industrial/Organizational Psychology), a Master of Science in Learning Analytics, and a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology.
