Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Arlington Heights, Illinois

Description We are on the lookout for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Illinois. The role involves maintaining the general ledger of active projects, ensuring execution of contracts, and managing customer inquiries. This role is pivotal in our organization and requires a high level of accuracy and efficiency in processing customer credit applications.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage the general ledger for active projects

• Set up new projects within the system and oversee their progress

• Review, extract, and implement pertinent provisions from contracts

• Ensure timely execution of all contracts and change orders

• Collect sub-tier billings necessary for billing packages and ensure their timely payout

• Compile monthly draw packages, ensuring all project-specific documentation is submitted promptly

• Review and generate sub-tier waivers, ensuring their accuracy and timeliness

• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure timely approval of draws

• Follow up on projects for any rejections to ensure revision timeliness

• Maintain a current cash flow ledger for projects and address/report any AR collection issues

• Analyze project goals and promptly report any variances

• Establish professional rapport with customers’ and suppliers’ representatives to ensure smooth collaboration. Requirements • Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

• Possession of a CPA certification is desirable

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role

• Strong understanding of Project Accounting and its implementation

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software

• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality

• Strong organizational and planning skills

• Must have legal authorization to work in the country.
