Job Title: Litigation Legal Secretary
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Our client, a renowned law firm in Arlington Heights, IL, is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Legal Secretary to add to their robust team. The ideal candidate has proven experience supporting attorneys in a litigation setting, possesses a comprehensive understanding of legal procedures and terminology, and thrives in an active, demanding environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the litigation legal team.
Prepare, process, and edit legal documents and papers, such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints, appeals, motions, and pretrial agreements.
Handle correspondence; manage calls and emails while maintaining confidentiality.
Support attorneys in court proceedings by handling document delivery, witnesses, and reports as necessary.
Manage court calendar, track trial dates, and ensure deadlines are met.
Assist with legal research as required by the attorneys.
Organize case files and maintain a robust document management system.
Liaise with clients, court personnel, and other law offices.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a closely related field.
At least three years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably within litigation.
Strong understanding of legal terminology and court procedures.
Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office suite.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
High level of confidentiality and discretion.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
