We are seeking an energetic, skilled Grounds Maintenance in Ark City, KS.

Employee performs manual work necessary to maintain cleanliness, orderliness, appearance and sanitation of KanPak grounds, roads, walks, and buildings. Work is performed within established procedures under both written and verbal instructions. Some decision making about details of work is exercised.

SHIFT: 2nd Shift- Sunday, Monday , Tuesday will work 6pm-6am; then on Wednesday work 6pm-12am.

We operate 24 / 7, 7 days per week. This opportunity will require flexibility to work weekends and overtime.

Job Summary

Our Forklift Drivers receive, select, store and load products and/or materials. Safely operate all material handling equipment. Accurately complete all associated paper work and maintain clean work area consistent with company standards.

COMPENSATION

The expected compensation range for this position is: $16.00-$17.00 + ..25 shift differential when worked.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate GSF Quality activities and operations to meet objective for quality, food safety, integrity, regulatory compliances, cost, safety and customer satisfaction at KanPak.

• Participate in formulating and administering division’s short and long range goals and objectives for business growth.

• Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of KanPak buildings and grounds, including roofs, siding, and walls.

• Safe work practices.

• Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building maintenance trades.

• Standard tools, methods, practices, and materials involved in the building trades.

• Operates hand tools, power tools, small equipment.

• Perform minor electrical maintenance to include replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.

• Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, etc).

• Performs snow removal and salting of facilities and access ways.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

• Filter changes on Heating and A/C units. Clean exhaust fans.

• Inspect emergency lights, fire extinguishers, hand washing stations, and emergency eye wash and shower stations.

• Repair and patch flooring as needed.

• Painting as needed inside and outside of the facility.

• Performs other work related duties as assigned.

• Must be able to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

Employment Requirements:

• High School Graduate

• Six months to one year in food industry experience preferred

• Preferred minimal 1 year experience in Building and Grounds Maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Have a working knowledge of contracting tools, including power tools, such as saws, drills, grinders, hand tools including hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.

• Have a thorough knowledge of the operation of forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, mowers and skid steer.

• Have a thorough knowledge of operating a plow on a pickup truck for snow removal.

Physical Requirement’s:

• Have the ability to climb and descend multiple ladder rungs.

• Have the ability to lift 50 pounds

• Have the ability to detect and differentiate colors, sounds, and smells.

• Have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand as job may require.
