JOB SUMMARY

The Analyst, Environmental Staff’s key job responsibilities include:

Provide environmental and regulatory support to Entergy facilities and or other business functions or projects; Lead and manage key stakeholder relationships including consultants, project teams, and regulators; Provide technical mentoring, oversight, development, and leadership for a team of environmental analysts; Provide direct leadership for environmental compliance programs implementation, process controls, and risk management.

This position will identify opportunities to manage enterprise programs more effectively including but not limited to utilizing prime consultants, implementing cross functional process enhancements, and developing and/or supporting Environmental Leadership’s key focus areas. To be successful in this role, experience managing environmental programs specifically environmental management at an enterprise level is preferred. A high aptitude for evaluation, interpretation and cost-effective application of environmental laws and regulations isrequired. The role strives for Continuous Improvement to improve costs, quality, and service both quantitatively and qualitatively.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Multi-dimensional role focused on people development, program management, and continuous improvement

  • Responsible for delivering organizational results consistent with and in support of Enterprise Environmental Leadership within and or across business functions including but not limited to Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Capital Projects, Power Development, System Planning, Real Estate, Facilities, and other organizations.

  • Evaluates, recommends, develops, coordinates, monitors, and or maintains environmental & regulatory policies and procedures that support Entergy's Environmental Management System and Data Management Programs. Ensures that the program’s internal controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with and meet EPA and State Regulatory Guidelines.

  • Key resource for ensuring the operationalization for overall environmental program management. This includes Regulatory compliance with United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Waste Regulations, Superfund Projects, Site Remediation Plans, Operating Permits, and Compliance Reporting for state regulatory compliance for system assets and state specific projects.

  • A primary resource for cross functional engagement with Entergy Sustainability and Environmental Policy organization. Responsible for understanding program management and risks associated with proposed external regulatory changes and or internal policy updates are fully understood and implemented both timely and cost effectively. Responsible for change management development associated with regulatory impacts.

  • Responsible for oversight and stewardship of environmental contractor budget and expenses. Supporting direct impacts of environmental cost management and overhead expense balance.

  • Enables the development and implementation of cross functional environmental management strategies, compliance programs and or projects.

  • Drives consistency and standardization of Environmental Management Programs across all Business Functions. Develops and implements strategies and tactics that reflect responsible risk management practices and yield cost effective compliance outcomes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other science-related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience. Must be proficient in use of computer-based data management systems.

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 7+ years of detailed experience effectively managing environmental compliance programs or activities.

  • Highly Preferred: Utility industry environmental management experience supporting operational facilities and/or business function.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Significant experience in several environmental areas including utility specific knowledge. Must have proficient computer skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details.

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Self-starter and requires little or no supervision.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities.

  • Willing and able to perform other unrelated duties as required and learn new processes and technologies.

  • Knowledge and experience related to Utility Environmental Management is highly desired.
