Description We are looking for a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our team based in Arden Hills, Minnesota. In this role, you will be tasked with various general accounting responsibilities, including payroll preparation, internal audits, daily cash management, and financial reporting. You will also play a significant role in budgeting, planning, and relationship management.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit biweekly payroll, ensuring compliance with internal policies.

• Conduct internal audits, focusing on employee retirement contributions and other deductions.

• Maintain the chart of accounts and prepare fixed asset and depreciation schedules.

• Conduct daily cash management activities and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and encumbrance reports.

• Assist in the preparation of financial, statistical, and related reports to meet state and federal funding requirements.

• Prepare quarterly reports in compliance with Area Plan requirements and payment requests for all funding sources.

• Drive employee engagement and organizational performance by aligning individual and team performance goals with strategic goals.

• Assist the Finance Director in preparing annual budgets and Area Plan budget, ensuring resources are fully expended when feasible.

• Establish and manage collaborative business partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Administer and maintain financial accounting and payroll/timekeeping systems, staying current on developments and system enhancements.

• Assist the Human Resources team with the implementation and monitoring of employee benefits through the payroll system. Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required.

• Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries is essential.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and calculations is necessary.

• Experience in handling Month End Close operations is required.

• Knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software is a plus.

• Experience in Fund Accounting - Non-Profit and Grant Accounting would be beneficial.

• Understanding of Profit and Loss statements is needed.

• Experience in performing Financial Statement Audits is a must.

• Familiarity with Audit procedures and practices is required.

• Applicant must hold a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines is required.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are needed.
