Hiring Pay Rate

The salary range listed represents a broad salary range for this position. It is anticipated that this position will begin at $3,255.00 per month, depending upon internal equity, experience, education, and training.

Note: Typical schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with flexibility in schedule to accommodate department needs. Must be able to travel and work at all ACC campuses. An essential function of this position requires the ability to e xert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Description of Job

Your application must provide a detailed description of your relevant work experience in relation to the following duties:

Performs paraprofessional work assisting, coordinating, and administering a variety of mail services functions, programs and activities. This position serves as the mail operations work leader and the first point of contact for employees, students, vendors and the public.

Accepts, inspects, and verifies incoming shipments against purchase orders. Sort and prioritize shipments based on urgency and departmental guidelines, resolve inconsistencies, and ensure all information is accurately recorded in tracking systems. Produce required documentation in a timely manner. Distributes packages and copy orders to campus offices daily. Must Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Oversees and distributes all incoming and outgoing mail, classifies outgoing mail, meters and applies postage, and provides mailing supplies. Answers basic postal regulation questions, resolves inconsistencies, and produces required documentation promptly. Makes morning and afternoon mail runs to the Post Office, to pick-up and drop-off mail.

Organizes, prioritizes, and prepares outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling according to postal regulations. Selects the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods and coordinates with carriers for timely delivery. Oversees chargebacks for all postage and shipping activities to individual cost centers and reconciling chargebacks with Post Office, FEDEX and UPS account balances. Serves as a backup support for Printing Services for basic operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only:

Twenty-four months (24) of clerical experience as listed above and performed as the primary function of the job. Daily interaction with students, faculty and staff require that this position have strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Computer literacy is a must. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for success in this position.Do not use "see resume" statements in application. Your application must be completed in detail, showing relevant experience in order to be considered. Part time experience will be prorated.

Substitutions:

College, university, or non-correspondence business school course work from an accredited institution in Business or related field may substitute for the clerical experience as listed above on a year for year basis. A copy of your transcript verifying the required credits must be submitted at the time of applying in order to be considered. Redact your personal identifiable information on your transcripts.

Preferred Requirements: Please provide a detailed description on your application of your relevant work experience and document examples of your work in relation to the following: Work experience in higher education. Working knowledge of Banner or similar system. High level of attention to detail (ability to check for typographical, grammatical and spelling errors, etc.). Excellent written communication skills. Good organizational skills. Experience with problem solving processes. Understand and determine appropriate rules and regulations from various sources. Experience operating postage meter machines, tracking and shipping software, and material handling equipment preferred. Ability to deal with a diverse population with discretion and tact.

Necessary Special Requirements: Must submit to and successfully complete a pre-employment background check which will include a motor vehicle report (MVR) as a condition of hire. Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from consideration for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges and convictions, it is your responsibility to provide ACC Office of Human Resources with an official disposition of the charges. Successful candidate must be willing to work before or after normal business hours if requested and overtime as needed. Arapahoe Community College gives employees compensatory time in lieu of cash payment for any overtime hours worked and is a condition of employment.
