Aston Carter Controller in Appleton, Wisconsin
Overview: Aston Carter is partnering with a local company to hire a Controller. This person will provide leadership and coordination of the corporate accounting, financial reporting, and debt financing functions.
Description:
Lead and consistently work with the team ensuring an understanding of the company and department-specific goals
Manage the team and set expectations, goals and provide constructive feedback
Hold all team members accountable for work in or outside of Finance Department standards, interaction with other departments and enforce clear project and deadline expectations.
Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting functions in order to produce timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Manage all monthly and year-end closing activities including review of journal entries and account reconciliations
Implement and monitor appropriate internal controls
Coordinate and direct the annual external audits of financial statements and 401(k) program
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a CPA license preferred
Five to ten years of experience in a Sr. level finance or accounting position
Prior supervisory experience in mainstream accounting, including A/R, A/P, credit, collections and general ledger
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
ERP system experience (NetSuite preferred)
