Job Title: Ammonia/Freon Service Technician

Pay: $25(1st yr apprentice) - $48/hr(Journeyman)

Job Description

Local union contractor is seeking a field technician to support its ammonia/freon refrigeration department.

90% of day-to-day work will be in servicing ammonia products and equipment:

• Ammonia testing, moisture testing, leak detection

• Change compressors, swap valves, offset temperatures

• Calibrate equipment, pressure test systems

• Routine maintenance, quarter/annual checks, troubleshoot, customer service

10% of day-to-day work will be in new construction, equipment, system, and appliance installation.

Work Environment

7AM-4PM, Monday-Friday

Thursday-Wednesday on-call rotation, every 6-8 weeks

Overnight travel, once or twice per year

If able, travel in 5-state radius, if schedule doesn't allow, you can stay.

Hyvee, Ice Rinks, Cold Storage, industrial and commercial environment

13 techs currently on the ammonia team

Will ride along with JM or experienced techs until comfortable. If comfortable right away, but uncomfortable with certain tasks, they will pair you with another tech to ensure you learn and continue developing your skills.
