Nvent Management Company Machine Operator in Anoka, Minnesota

Summary A machine operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, maintaining and operating laser systems and manual, NC, CNC presses and cutting machines. A machine operator uses computerized manufacturing technologies to lead and guide the initial phase of the fabrication process. A machine operator must follow safety procedures, quality standards and production schedules to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the operations. Duties and Responsibilities Set up, adjust, maintain and operate laser systems and manual, NC, CNC presses and cutting machines according to specifications and instructions. Use computerized manufacturing technologies to program, monitor and control the machines and processes. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders and production reports to determine the requirements and specifications of the operations. Measure and inspect the workpieces for quality and conformity using various tools and instruments. Identify and troubleshoot any problems or malfunctions of the machines and equipment and report them to the supervisor or maintenance personnel. Follow safety procedures, quality standards and production schedules and adhere to the company policies and regulations. Clean and maintain the work area, machines and equipment and ensure the proper disposal of waste materials. Assist other machine operators and workers as needed and perform other related duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Knowledge and skills in operating laser systems and manual, NC, CNC presses and cutting machines. Ability to use computerized manufacturing technologies and software applications. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders and production reports. Ability to measure and inspect the workpieces for quality and conformity using various tools and instruments. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to the machines and equipment. Ability to follow safety procedures, quality standards and production schedules and adhere to the company policies and regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy objects and materials. Attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency. No corrective actions or performance improvement plans within six (6) months of the job posting opening date No decision making leaves within 12 months of the job posting opening date Most recent performance rating of 4.0 or greater Successfully completed six (6) months in current job bid classification OR current career advancement classification.
