Actalent Electrical Engineer (NEC/NESC Lighting) in Anniston, Alabama

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical (Lighting) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, with 0-5 years of experience. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, communicate effectively, and demonstrate leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize engineering knowledge to support various projects, with a preference for those with traditional electrical utility experience.

  • Adhere to NEC and/or NESC specifications.

  • Exhibit a natural leadership attitude and take initiative once fully trained.

  • Communicate ideas clearly to team members and teach newly learned concepts.

  • Approach tasks with a detail-oriented mindset, seeking to understand the “why” behind processes.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain good organizational skills.

  • Network and communicate effectively within the team and with external stakeholders.

  • Ensure attention to detail in all work completed.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a car or truck.

  • Ability to endure temperature extremes (Alabama summer and winter).

  • Capability to walk on uneven terrain.

  • Proficiency with basic tools (e.g., hammering stakes into the ground).

  • Above-average computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and priority computer programs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electric Utility, Distribution/Transmission experience.

  • Security, Parking, Commercial, Residential or Industrial Lighting Design experience.

  • Knowledge of NEC and/or NESC specifications.
