Amazon Solutions Architect, National Security, NATSEC Partner SA Team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented National Security (NATSEC) Partner Solutions Architect (SA) to join our team supporting Intelligence Community customers and partners in the Annapolis Junction/DC Metro area.

As a NATSEC Partner SA, you'll be the trusted technical advisor to our partners, serving as the "face of Amazon" to them. You'll tackle a wide range of complex and mission-critical technical challenges, collaborating with and influencing external stakeholders (partners and government customers) and internal AWS teams, such as sales and platform engineering. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to design and architect state-of-the-art cloud solutions leveraging the latest AWS analytics, AI/ML, storage, and container services. You'll work with a world-class sales and business development team, enabling partners to build innovative cloud solutions for a diverse and challenging set of customers.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within partner organizations, enabling them to become cloud advocates.

  • Participate in deep-dive enablement and design engagements to create world-class AWS solutions.

  • Partner with the sales team to formulate and execute strategies to achieve sales goals through the adoption of AWS.

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to the partner sales process, ensuring success in building and migrating workloads to AWS.

  • Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing technical publications, such as whitepapers, blogs, and other reusable content.

  • Keep your technical skills honed and develop new ones, so you can make strong contributions to AWS partner engagements to build and migrate applications, systems and services to the AWS classified

A day in the life

As an AWS National Security Partner Solutions Architect, your day is a dynamic blend of technical partner engagements, problem solving, and relationship building. You might start by collaborating with an AWS partner to architect a secure and scalable cloud solution leveraging AWS services like Amazon EKS and Amazon SageMaker. Then, you'll engage with AWS sales teams to provide technical guidance and support for an upcoming partner presentation. In the afternoon, you'll participate in a deep-dive design session with a partner, leveraging your knowledge of AWS best practices and compliance requirements to develop an innovative solution. Throughout the day, you'll leverage your strong interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with partners, positioning yourself as a trusted technical advisor and the "face of Amazon" in the national security space.

The mission of the NATEC Partner SA Team is to transform and accelerate the IC through partner enablement and technical support to build innovative, mission-focused, resilient, secure and scalable AWS solutions using the world’s leading cloud services. We are trusted technical advisors to AWS NATSEC partners. With deep insight into our customers’ mission, we collaboratively champion well-architected solutions with our partners that account for the unique nature of each security classification domain and agency environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering)

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product roadmaps, and emerging technologies.
