Summary About the Position: Serves as the Security Specialist for the Security Section in Real Property Services Field Office (RSFO) and is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of policies and internal controls for all facets of security for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs to include Personnel, Industrial, Information, Communications, Operational, Physical Security and the Antiterrorism/Force Protection program. Responsibilities Manages Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) billets, indoctrinations, debriefings. Processes badge requests and monitors the security access control point. Ensure entrants have been vetted, have visitor requests in place prior to access the facility. Verifies and tracks personnel security clearances through the Defense Information System for Security. Responsible for maintaining employee’s personnel security record. Prepare and maintain security correspondence, records of official reports, inspections and surveys to ensure the facility is in compliance with all regulations. Evaluates all Sensitive Compartmented Information security programs requirements for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) IAW Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, DoD manuals, and other agencies regulations. Serves as the Communication Security (COMSEC) Custodian and a liaison for the COMSEC program. Conduct security, vulnerability and risk assessments of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and provide recommendations. Performs the administration, operational oversight, and implementation of the Personnel Security (PERSEC) for the planning of all relevant security activities. Prepares and maintains security correspondence, records of official reports, inspections and surveys to ensure the facility is in compliance with regulations. Coordinates with headquarters and other security agencies to provide Physical Security Vulnerability Assessments. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Providing support to the physical security program and advise related to secure facilities; 2. Coordinating the security program and provides security awareness training for personnel; and 3. Serving as the Communications Security (COMSEC) custodian and liaison with the Intelligence Community (IC) for the COMSEC program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above.). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Database Management Systems Security Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
