Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cable Technician, Junior, to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD . In this role, you will provide the provisioning, installation, design, termination, testing, documentation, operations, and maintenance of all types of IT cabling.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Able to read drawings to establish correct wiring/cable runs.

• Able to assist in running cables for building or racking of equipment or other cabling services, with minimal assistance, install cabling from transport/wiring closets to the customer access outlet.

• Install cabling both under floor and above the ceiling in cable trays, troughs, wiring baskets, harnesses, and J hooks.

• Perform cable management in racks and termination shelves.

• Successfully terminate various types of copper connectors.

• Able to discuss pathways, spaces, bonding and grounding and firestopping.

• Able to choose the correct tool or methodology for specific cabling tasks.

Basic Qualifications :

• Two (2) years of experience in IT cable installation and termination.

• Areas of knowledge must include physical ability to lift 50 pounds, cable termination, testing, cable rack preparation, layout and installation, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A valid BICSI Installer 1, Copper or Installer 1, Optical Fiber certification. Two (2) years of experience may be substituted for certification.

• Provide team leadership, engineering, and design knowledge to meet technical specifications.

• In-Depth knowledge of termination equipment, methodologies, and splicing techniques.

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Current/Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

• Technicians must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing about 50 lbs. often . At times, they may have to lift heavier equipment. Additionally, they should be able to work in small spaces and at varying heights and be required to climb ladders.Sedentary work, speaking, standing, talking, walking, working with computers, working with data, ability to handle stress & work under pressure, ability to use MS Office and a PC, analytical or critical thinking skills, leadership and listening skills, multi-tasking ability, oral & written communication skills, computer operating skills, and team building skills.
