Summary
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Business Process Consultant Lead will consult on business process strategies for multiple units, develop process improvements, document workflows, and create new processes to facilitate information and communication flows between different units in the School of Information (UMSI). You will communicate closely with school leadership, heads of units, staff, students, and faculty in order to move forward with organizational improvements. This is a two-year term-limited position.

Responsibilities*
Assess and analyze existing business processes and workflows across various units identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvements.
Develop comprehensive business process strategies and plans aligning with organizational goals and objectives prioritizing based on potential impact and feasibility.
Design, implement, and lead process improvements and facilitate the use of new technologies or systems that support better workflow management.
Document current and future workflows ensuring the documentation is accessible and updated regularly.
Communicate with leadership, heads of units, staff, students, and faculty to build strong relationships, understand their needs, and ensure that their voices are heard and concerns are being addressed.
Develop and facilitate training sessions for partners and provide ongoing support.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of implemented processes and make adjustments as necessary.
Apply change management principles and communicate clearly and frequently about changes and updates.
Create detailed project plans and manage cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Ensure that the new or improved processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies and stay informed about industry best practices.
Required Qualifications*
Master's degree and 10+ years of experience in organizational leadership.
Experience in cross-unit communication.
Experience leading groups and engaging people in developing and working towards shared goals.
Experience successfully implementing process improvement initiatives and managing change.
Experience in project management, organizational change management, and leading cross-functional teams.
Experience exercising strategic thinking, integrating innovative solutions and approaches to enhance organizational effectiveness and drive long-term success.
Work Schedule
Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required. You may be required to work during non-business hours and on weekends.
You may be required to travel to multiple locations on and off campus. Your main office workspace is located in one of UMSI's 5 locations. Hybrid work is possible and follows the UMSI Remote Work Policy and with supervisor approval. Remote work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change depending upon our needs.
