Description:

POSITION PORPOSE

  • Registered Nurse opportunity as a House Administrator. The House Administrator coordinates and organizes personnel and other resources to meet the patient care functions of the organization, in a cost-effective manner.

  • This role collaborates to provide crisis management, interpret policy and procedures, and to assure timely and effective communication and collaboration between individuals and departments. The House Administrator represents the organizational leadership across all venues on their designated shift, and collaborates to make decisions and act on behalf of the leadership team.

  • This position is a Full-Time, benefited position, scheduled 36 hours per week. Twelve-hour day shift, with a weekend and holiday rotation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Demonstrates the leadership skills of delegation, organization, and coordination in the assigned shift, by maintaining visibility and accessibility to staff to ensure the continuous and timely availability of resources to outpatient care, emergency, inpatient, and operative services to patients and families.

  • Responds to all codes, patient falls, emergencies and to all workplace violence events throughout the hospital, to assure appropriate support and protocols are followed.

Continuously monitors hospital operations by integrating data from electronic systems and personal communications. Conducts rounds on the units to identify patient and colleague needs and implement shared decisions to reach a solution, independently or in collaboration with the Manager/ Unit Leadership/ administrators, for safe, effective, efficient and satisfactory patient care service.

  • Ensures the safety and quality of patient care by allocating and redirecting resources, considering care demands related to acuity, patient and unit requirements and staff skill mix.

  • Regarding flow and throughput and in the operations of patient flow command center, this role involves:

  • Leading and acting as a resource for flow and throughput.

  • Collaborating with the patient resource manager (PRM) and physician leadership on flow priorities.

  • Assisting with bed placement as necessary.

  • Coordinating the routine flow of scheduled, direct, and emergency department patient admissions.

  • Establishing effective communication with care management, medical staff, and the interdisciplinary team.

  • Initiating a high occupancy response plan as needed."

  • Coordinates the organizational response during times of high census, collaborating with administrators, nursing directors, the Emergency Department, Surgery Department, Critical Care, Cath Lab, Women’s and Children and Inpatient Nursing Units to execute capacity management plans.

  • Acts as in-house THAA Administration representative to patients and families. Supports patient relations in addressing patient, family, staff, and physician complaints.

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required.

  • Licensure / Certification: RN License in State of Michigan required.

  • Certification: BLS required

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience required. 5 years preferred.

  • Other Qualifications: Progressive experience in health care including involvement in direct patient care, educating staff, supervising staff, and problem solving of unit or organizational issues. CPI certification within 6 months of hire.

  • CPI certification within 6 months of hire.
