Edge Autonomy Quality Engineering Specialist in Ann Arbor, Michigan

WORK LOCATION: Ann Arbor, MISALARY RANGE: $33 - $38FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt SUMMARYThe Quality Engineer is an experienced level position requiring a minimum of 3 years in one or more of the following areas: Configuration Management, Supplier Management, Audits, Inspection techniques (non-destructive, electronics, mechanical), or Manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include, designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions.RESPONSIBILITIESThe following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties. Performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished productsDevelops & Implements quality control policies and evaluates production limitationsDeveloping and implementing new or revised quality and control standards.Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.Coordinates & assists with internal and external audits acting as primary point of contactParticipates in Root Cause and Corrective Action process through full life-cycleSupports the RMA processIn conjunction with the Quality Manager collaborates with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.Implements and monitors corrective actions, solutions, and improvementsWorks collaboratively & in conjunction with the larger functionREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSThe following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:Degree in Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing, 7+ years of progressive related experience in manufacturing.3+ years in progressive QE positionPrevious responsibility with supporting design, set-up and implementation of a QMS SystemUnderstanding and experience in aerospace standards AS9100 &/or ISO-9001, and its general practices.Familiarity with calibration processes and documentation.Excellent internal and external Customer interface skills.Demonstrated collaboration skills & ability to get things done through influenceProven ability to lead projects that are complex in naturePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ASQ certification (preferred) J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 certifications (preferred)Working knowledge of GD&T (preferred)Working knowledge of ESD requirements and practices. (preferred)Electrical and electronic inspection processes. (preferred)Working knowledge of GSE systems and general associated equipment.
