Perform engineering activities necessary to support new product introduction (NPI) for Surfscan tools & semiconductor inspection systems. Work side-by-side with engineering teams in fully integrated manner as the products move through their product life cycle (PLC), serving as a two-way conduit of information to incorporate value-added serviceability, reliability, and service business practice improvements into the design of the products and their features. Optimize serviceability, reduce Cost of Service (CoS) through all stages of the PLC, and improve short- and long-term product service revenue performance. Continuously track system-level product performance and ensure it meets established engineering specifications through all stages of the PLC. Drive the continuous improvement of mechanical system hardware, diagnostics and software, tooling, technical documentation, knowledge management, and training. Specifically, influence early PLC designs to include features that will optimize KLA's service business, including calibrations and diagnostics, Cost of Service (CoS), reliability, design tolerances, and intellectual property (IP) protection. Provide mechanical engineering support in complex beta testing and escalation efforts, analyze data from various sources, and work with divisional experts to provide a detailed action plan suitable for execution by customer service engineers (CSEs) and technical support engineers (TSEs). Some domestic and international travel required. May telecommute. Salary range: $95,481-$99,800 per year.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Optics, Physics, Science or related field (or foreign equivalent).
