Summary

We are looking for someone that wants to be a part of the Cardiac Procedures Unit (CPU) at the Frankel Cardiovascular Center as a check-in/front lobby clerk. As check-in, you would assist patients by arriving them and giving them materials related to their procedure. This is a full-time position. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6am to 2:30pm.

Responsibilities*

Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Scheduling inpatients for procedures in Michart/Optime

  • Supporting nursing staff and Physicians

  • Paging staff

  • Preparing patient charts

  • Providing a daily lunch count for patients

  • Order medical equipment for patients and nursing staff

  • Arranging patient transportation through MiChart

  • Answering phones and triaging calls

  • Check patients in for procedures

  • Arrange follow-up appointments

  • Cover vacations by working other shifts and areas

Required Qualifications*

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 3-4 years of experience

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent attendance record

  • Able to work a flexible schedule

  • Able to multitask in a fast pace environment

Desired Qualifications*

  • MiChart access

  • Previous clerical experience

Work Schedule

The standard work schedule is: Mon -Fri 6a-230p

Union Affiliation

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the Service Employees International Union - Healthcare Michigan (SEIU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening
