Job Summary

The Department of Psychology in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks applicants with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (licensed or license-eligible in Michigan) for a full time new Lecturer III position to begin August 25, 2025. This is a non-tenure track position, with a University Year appointment period (i.e., runs September 1 through May 31 each year).

A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a Lecturer III in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts is three (3) courses per semester, or the equivalent in administrative and/or service duties. The initial appointment period will be one (1) to four (4) years (depending on qualifications), and the appointment may be renewed (based on programmatic need, funding, and performance). The appointment is subject to final approval by the college.

This is an exciting position for a licensed clinical psychologist who is passionate about education, as it uniquely provides opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate teaching as well as clinical science curriculum development and administration. Specifically, duties and responsibilities for this Lecturer III position are expected to include: teaching and supervising graduate-level assessment courses for the doctoral clinical science program; development and instruction of undergraduate psychology courses (e.g., existing courses in clinical psychology and the opportunity to develop new courses based on individual interests and department need); and administrative/service duties in the clinical science area (e.g., coordinate assessment training for doctoral students and coordinate department efforts to prepare undergraduate students for graduate programs or careers in the mental health field). The current position will include teaching five (5) courses per academic year (2-3 per semester) with a 1 course release for administrative tasks.
