Job Summary

The Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program in the Department of Psychiatry carries out research in bipolar disorder. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented lead coordinator for a complex, multi-site longitudinal study focused on accelerating the science of bipolar disorder.

Responsibilities*

  • Manage the enrollment of individuals with lived experience with bipolar disorder into a longitudinal cohort study over a period of five years.

  • Oversee all aspects of the study process including consenting, diagnostic interviewing, administration of clinical assessments (under guidance/supervisions of advanced clinicians), biospecimen processing, neurocognitive testing, MRI imaging, data entry and other procedures.

  • Address routine requests from the central coordinating center regarding staff certifications, IRB updates, data queries, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Lead weekly meetings to report on study productivity and challenges.

  • Effectively communicate with the primary investigator and manager to collaborate on innovative solutions to achieve target goals.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 4-5 years of experience coordinating research studies or related field.

  • Ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities within the identified scope of work while collaborating and maintaining clear and consistent communication with team and leadership.

  • Comfort and willingness to work both proactively and independently, as well as in teams.

  • Demonstrated skills of being detail-oriented, organized, and strong planning skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication.

  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills: Google Mail and Google Drive; Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) i.e., creating documents and presentations, maintaining records and lists of contacts, etc.

  • Ability to work respectfully across race, class, gender, religious and other differences.

  • Ability to work some weekend and evening hours as necessary.

  • Personal transportation to be able to work between two locations.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree Preferred.

  • Prior managerial and supervisory experience.

  • Previous background in clinical trial coordination for psychiatric research studies.

  • Previous research experience in mental health.

  • Knowledge of bipolar disorder.

Work Schedule

Hours: 40hrs/week, Monday - Friday

This position will include a dedicated office space and require being present in the office most days of the week.

Background Screening
