Job Summary
The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to manage the clerkship rotations in Emergency Medicine. This position reports to the Education Manager of the Department of Emergency Medicine with functional responsibility to the Clerkship Director. This role will work closely with Clerkship Director and EM Education Leaders to implement curriculum and instruction for medical students in Emergency Medicine for the required and elective education programs in a fast paced, busy environment

Our clinical operations at University Hospital (UH), Children?s and Women?s Hospital (C&W) and Hurley Medical Center (HMC) are focused on continuously improving the quality of patient care and optimizing the patient care experience. Our training programs include a required rotation for all UM medical students, a four-year residency with 64 residents that rotate to four clinical sites including UH, C&W, HMC and Trinity Health Ann Arbor and 8 different fellowships to incorporate the latest innovations in medical education. Our broad research portfolio spans the spectrum of emergency medicine, ranging from molecular biology to health policy, with significant expertise in multicenter clinical trials, injury prevention and emergency critical care. In terms of service, our faculty hold significant leadership roles in the medical school, hospitals, health system and national organizations. They also serve the local community in Ann Arbor and globally through our leadership of emergency medicine training programs in Ghana.

Responsibilities*
Manage the medical student required 4-week rotations, elective rotations and all education initiatives/events, including 4-6 evening events per year.
Manage Medical Student orientation: lectures, schedules, room reservations.
Distribution and collection of student evaluations and feedback.
Prepare grade summaries and submission of final grades.
Maintain ED Shadowing Requests.
Schedule EM Advising meetings, maintain google doc and radar list.
Order and proctor Medical Student NBME exam.
Manage and order medical/simulation supplies.
Provide administrative support to Clerkship Director including Pcard transactions and Chrome River reimbursement processing.
Maintenance of UM Med School Canvas website for EM.
EMIG (Emergency Medicine Interest Group) ? assist with a variety of activities.
Input Medical Student EVU's for Department and Medical School Organizes presenters and schedule for clerkship and EC3 didactics.
Additional responsibilities / duties as assigned
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of progressively responsible relevant administrative experience.
Ability to work independently and work well with faculty, med students, and peers.
Must be able to prioritize workload and maintain focused work in a high volume, deadline-driven environment.
Perform with a very high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.
Outstanding punctuation, spelling, grammar, proofreading, editing and formatting skills are required.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge of electronic calendaring and the Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
Desired Qualifications*
Master's degree or other graduate degree in a related field.
Prior experience working in academic healthcare or an academic research setting.
Knowledge of University organizational structure, policies, procedures, and practices; and working familiarity with and appreciation of the diverse cultures of the schools, colleges, and units of the University.
Knowledge of medical education from a GME and UME perspective.
