Responsibilities*

Analyzes quotations received, selects, and recommends suppliers. Creates requisitions in M-pathways and follows up to expedite delivery and shipment if needed. Obtains certifications of delivery and conducts checks against the order. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operations. Sets up return authorization and shipment of devices needing repair, receives orders, and notifies staff of their arrival. Serve as back-up for the call center receiving incoming calls from customers to address inquiries, answer questions, and create work orders, and assign to paging groups. Coordinate new equipment delivery with customers to ensure incoming inspections are handled efficiently. Pick up/delivery medical equipment as needed.

Required Qualifications*

Obtains materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. Studies market trends, interviews vendors, and recommends sources of supply. Analyzes quotations received, selects or recommends suppliers, and schedules deliveries. Supervises preparation of orders and follows up to expedite delivery and shipment. Obtains certifications of delivery and conducts check against order. Checks and approves invoices for orders placed. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation. 2 - 5 years of professional experience. Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization. Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character. Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
