Activity Supported:

USAF wargaming consists of multiple nested events that build upon each other in the study of force posture and design to achieve CSAF objectives. Each wargame consists of multiple task, functional, and cross-functional specific workshops, joint and combined operational planning events, table-top exercises, vignette driven explorations, and strategic forums. The Wargame Information Environment (WIE) is the collection of information technology tools and services that AF Wargaming uses to support its wargaming. GameNet is the deployable component of the WIE that directly supports wargame participants during game planning and execution. The WIE also comprises modeling and simulation (M&S), visualization, and other tools to enhance game planning, play, adjudication, data collection, and analysis.

Job Description:

  • Provides IT (software, hardware, network) support for wargame execution

  • Deploys, assembles, and manages LAN server suites

  • Supports Network Tools throughout wargame cycles to assist in the management and support of the WIE, M&S tools and GameNet to remotely execute commands, push files, delete files, and push images and software updates to the entire network

  • Contractor shall review and implement security requirements for accreditation associated with GameNet systems. Accreditation-specific tasks include:

  • Adjudicate all security controls to an official status in Enterprise Mission Support Service (eMASS)

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for non-compliant controls

  • Implement Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) updates into all systems within the authorization boundary

  • Conduct and submit Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) vulnerability scans in accordance with the Authorization to Operate (ATO)

  • Populate and manage Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Continuous Monitoring (CM) requirements

  • Perform Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) duties IAW DODI 8500.01 and AFI 33-210

  • To perform these, member(s) on the Contract-s IT team will require working knowledge and/or experience with operational Air Force systems from an ISSM perspective, to include STIGs, Controls, eMASS, and Security Center.

  • Maintain, modernize, manage, the Wargame Information Environment (WIE) and related components.

  • Manages the hardware components of GameNet to include inventory, distribution to and within wargaming locations, and recovery to steady-state and storage locations

  • Assist with management activities to account for all IT equipment used by AF Wargaming, to include NIPRNet and SIPRNet, and shall manage WIE assets.

  • Order and ensure delivery of IT equipment on behalf of the company when officially requested by the Government for incorporation into the WIE, to include but not limited to: Video Conferencing Equipment, to include upgrades to the same; technical refreshes and expansion of the WIE, which may include computers, software, software licenses, hardware, servers, and other ancillary equipment requisite to operate the WIE; and updates to infrastructure, as required. (Infrastructure includes Uninterruptable Power Supplies, cabling/wiring, switches, electrical components, etc.)

  • User identity and access management to ensure users see data across the system appropriate to their wargame role.

  • Manage and operate VTC systems and Conference Room audiovisual suites

  • Schedule, operate, and arrange maintenance, accreditation, connection, and upgrade planning for both classified and unclassified video teleconference (VTC) activities and related physical and personnel security matters.

  • Schedule, coordinates with other sites, and ensures proper execution of VTCs in support of AF Wargaming-s day to day ops and in support of wargame events.

  • Support the design of wargames to meet a variety of purposes and objectives.

    Required Skills/Education/Years of Experience:

  • Shall possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in network management and engineering.

  • Shall meet the requirements of DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program at the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or III.

  • Shall have good communications skills.

  • Knowledge of Air Force IT enterprise and system administration required.

    Security Clearance Required: TOP SECRET /SCI (TS/SCI) eligible security clearance is desired with a SECRET level being mandatory.

    Position Type: Full Time

    Salary Range: $70,000 - 110,000

    Work Location: The primary duty location is Joint Base Andrews, MD. Occasional work presence will be required at AF Futures spaces at the Pentagon, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, or elsewhere in the NCR, as mission requirements dictate.
