Covenant Health Accounts Payable Specialist in Andover, Massachusetts

The starting rate for this position is: $18.62

Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the processing of Accounts Payable transactions for the organization. His/her role is to provide financial, administrative and clerical support to the department. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing both invoices and payments while controlling expenses by verifying and reconciling statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.

  • Responsible for processing invoices and payments on a weekly basis.

  • Responsible for compliance by auditing invoices to adhere to corporate AP policy

  • Ensures each invoice must be approved by appropriate leadership role, include expense coding and adhere to corporate spending policy.

  • Responsible for creation of the bi-weekly accounts payable payment check run as well as demand checks.

  • Responsible for printing disbursements, both ACH and paper, and disseminating by mail.

  • Position responsible for the invoice and purchase order matching process.

  • Responsible for research and resolution of vendor discrepant invoices by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements

  • Other duties as consistent with this role.

    Job Requirements

    Job Knowledge and Skills

  • AP Specialist must possess interpersonal and communication skills to work with others.

  • AP Specialist must understand basic principles of accounts payable processes

  • The role must be able to sit repeatedly for hours at a time.

  • Requires attention to detail, meeting deadlines, organizational skills and accuracy.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) especially EXCEL

  • Position has knowledge and skill in working in an AP Database

    Education and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous accounts payable experience preferred.

  • Basic accounting knowledge along with computerized A/P Processing preferred.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
