Position Summary

The Retread Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the retread plant's operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, staff training, management of personnel, inventory and assets control, warehousing and customer relations.  They are also responsible for customer satisfaction as it relates to retreading, including all departments in the plant or store. This position exists to manage the entire plant’s operations, increase profitability and enhance customer satisfaction. This role requires a leader who is not only adept at managing but is also willing to engage directly in the retreading process when necessary. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and experience with tire retreading and a proven track record in plant management.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily activities of the retreading facility, including oversight of team members and monitoring performance levels of each team member.

  • Establishes goals and objectives with each Retread Technician on plant expectations.

  • Ensure proper selection, development and placement of employees to maximize employee performance.

  • Ensure employees participate in training, follows safety procedures, job duties and company policies.

  • Responsible for maintaining plant compliance on operations defined by the Operational Compliance Review process.

  • Responsible for ensuring inventory level stay within company guidelines and waste or losses are kept a minimum

  • Inspects tires to be retreaded or repaired to determine condition, repairs needed, etc.

  • Apply rubber compounds to retread the tire to tire casing and hangs up to dry Curing retread tires

  • Quality control of finished product

  • Checks finished tire with work order for proper identification and completion of work required

  • Trims and paints finished retread.

  • Participates in training, follows safety procedures, job duties and company policies

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move tires weighing between 30-250 lbs. with or without mechanical assistance.

  • Repetitive and sustained exertions, forceful exertions, awkward postures, mechanical stress concentrations, vibrations.

  • Hands on Retreading experience required

  • Previous retread plant management experience preferred

  • Previous supervisor experience (Preferred)

  • Plant/Factory Management Experience (Preferred) * *

  • Pre-employment drug test, physical exam and background check required.
